Without a doubt, there are several essential qualities medical professionals should have/ possess/ demonstrate. I reckon that the most important/ significant one is kindness. Their jobs are meant to save lives so they must be considerate and caring in order to foster trust and comfort. Additionally, I believe healthcare professionals need to be resilient. These jobs require rigorous training and are mentally-intensive, so without resilience, they would give up easily. (*demonstrate: bộc lộ/ thể hiện / be meant to do ST: là để / save lives: cứu người / rigorous training: sự đào tạo khắt khe, kĩ / mentally-demanding/ intensive: tổn hao tâm trí) (Cấu trúc trả lời Ielts Speaking part 3: Main idea 1+ sub idea 1 => LINKER => main idea 2 + sub idea 2)
Why do people choose to work in the medical field?
I suppose that the principal reason for pursuing a medical profession is to help people overcome their illnesses, which I believe is truly a rewarding career. Many people aspire to be a doctor because they have lost their loved ones to diseases. Another motivation might be a good career prospect. The healthcare sector is so vast and medical jobs such as surgeons and psychiatrists seem to be in high demand forever as people never stop wanting to be healthier and more beautiful. This field is without a doubt a great choice for those who prioritize job security.
(*pursue a job: theo đuổi 1 nghề / overcome: vượt qua / aspire to: khao khát / lost their loved ones to diseases: mất người thân vì bệnh tật / career prospect: triển vọng nghề nghiệp / surgeons: bác sĩ phẫu thuật / psychiatrists: bác sĩ tâm lí / be in high demand: được nhu cầu cao / job security: sự ổn định nghề nghiệp)
How does working in the medical field impact a person's life?
As I see it, working in this field can have profound impacts on people’s lives. Though these professionals can obtain a sense of personal fulfillment through their meaningful work and contributions, they might have difficulty maintaining a healthy work/ life balance for themselves. Medical careers often involve irregular hours, working overtime and on-call responsibilities. This can adversely impact their personal relationships and leisure time. On top of that, these jobs can be mentally and emotionally taxing because doctors and nurses have to witness people suffering from serious diseases on a daily basis or if they fail to save lives, it might take a toll on their mental well-being. (* have profound impacts on: có ảnh hưởng sâu sắc / sense of personal fulfillment: cảm giác toại nguyện / irregular hours: giờ giấc không cố định / on-call responsibilities: luôn sẵn sàng làm việc / On top of that = bên cạnh đó / emotionally taxing: tổn hại cho sức khoẻ cảm xúc / suffer from: chịu đau đớn bệnh tật / take a toll on their mental well-being: có hại cho sức khỏe tinh thần)

Do you think medical professionals are valued in society today?
Generally speaking, I’d say that medical professionals are highly respected in society. In Vietnam, for instance, a National Doctor’s Day is celebrated every year to honor their huge contributions. Or when we are discharged from the hospital, we usually offer a gift, such as a basket of fruit, to the doctors and nurses who have treated us to express our gratitude and appreciation for them. Most importantly, doctors are called “thầy thuốc” in Vietnamese. The term literally means “the master of medicine”, and we only use the word “master” for the two jobs that are deemed noblest: teachers and doctors. (* to honor : tôn vinh / discharged from the hospital: được xuất viện / express our gratitude and appreciation for: bày tỏ sự biết ơn và trân trọng với ai đó / noble: cao quý / be deemed: được cho là)
Who are more important: doctors or nurses?
From my perspective, I believe they are equally - important. On the one hand, doctors are more skilled and only doctors are qualified for diagnosing and treating ill or injured people. However, without the help of nurses in taking care of patients, doctors would not be able to perform their jobs well and hospitals wouldn’t be able to operate. In short, I’d say doctors and nurses are both crucial for the healthcare sector. They just have complementary roles to play. (*diagnose: khám bệnh / treat: chữa bệnh / perform : làm việc / complementary roles: vai trò bổ sung nhau)

How will technology influence medical jobs in the future?
To be honest, I’ve never thought about this before. But I can guess that cutting-edge technologies will continue to transform the medical field in a way we cannot fully foresee. It’s likely that superintelligent robots powered by artificial intelligence might take over certain tasks of doctors and nurses or facilitate their work. This means that their workload will be lessened and their productivity might be significantly improved. As well as this, there would be higher demand for health data analysts and AI specialists. (*cutting-edge technologies: công nghệ cao / transform: biến chuyển / foresee: tiên đoán trước / facilitate: thúc đẩy / workload: khối lượng công việc / lessen = reduce / specialists: chuyên gia)
Do you think that doctors and nurses in Vietnam are underpaid?
I think it depends on where they work. In my country, medical professionals, especially nurses working in public hospitals are more likely to be underpaid than those working in private medical centers. They tend to work longer hours and the state salaries are generally not commensurate with their ability and contributions. That’s why many doctors who have gained enough experience and status in public hospitals often shift to the private sector or even start their own clinics.
