It was anticipated that rapid technological advancement would allow people in the 21 century to enjoy much more leisure time than in the past. From my perspective, however, I’m inclined to think that this prediction is just a fallacy (=misbelief: hiểu biết, nhận định sai).

Admittedly, unprecedented technological development has liberated people from time-consuming tasks at home and at work. Tedious chores that once took hours, such as doing the laundry or cleaning room floors are now done by automatic machines. Automation and digitalization has also transformed the workplace. Work and business, even beyond national borders, can now be handled at home thanks to virtual platforms and apps, which has reduced the time that would otherwise be spent on commuting or traveling. (*unprecedented: chưa từng có / liberate: giải phóng / Automation: tự động hoá / digitalization: số hoá / beyond: vượt quá / otherwise: nếu không / commuting: việc đi lại)
Nevertheless, the realization of increased leisure time as a result of technological advancement seems as elusive as ever. Despite the efficiency gained through the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, there have been ever-growing demands on individuals' time, leading to their hectic lifestyle. Teleworking has blurred the boundary between personal life and professional life, and many people now find it hard to completely switch off from work during non-working hours. (*realization = fulfilment: sự đạt được / elusive= difficult to achieve/ ever-growing: không ngừng tăng / Teleworking = home working / blur = làm mờ đi / switch off = stop giving attention to ST: ngừng nghĩ về)
Furthermore, the ubiquity of digital gadgets and the distraction caused by addictive content on social media apps have significantly hindered concentration and productivity. In fact, many individuals now barely have time to catch up with work or study, let alone enjoy their leisure pursuits. Not to mention, rapid technological development has necessitated continuous learning and longer working hours. People tend to find themselves working harder than ever in order to adapt to or afford the latest technologies, including fancy cars, laptops and smartphones. (*ubiquity: being everywhere/ hinder: cản trở / pursuits= activities / necessitate = make ST necessary)
In conclusion, I believe that technology can make various aspects of life simpler, but at the same time can exacerbate the complexity and social pressures of modern society. It appears to me that the prediction of increased leisure time in the 21st century thanks to technological advances has not yet been realized. (*at the same time: đồng thời / exacerbate = make ST worse / realize = achieve)
